My Testimony
My name is Seth Townsend. I grew up in Hillsboro, Oregon attending Bible Believers Baptist Church.
My testimony is one of God’s continual mercy and blessings! I was blessed to be born into a Christian family where God, and the Bible, and going to church were just a part of life for as long as I can remember. But, being born into a Christian family doesn’t save anyone. You have to be born again. “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” - John 3:5.
At the age of seven, at a Sunday evening service, a young lady was giving her testimony of how she was born again. And the Holy Spirit convicted me that I was a sinner. And that if I was to die, I would go hell. I knew I was a sinner, and that God couldn’t let sin into Heaven. So later that night at home I asked my mom to show me from the Bible how I could be born again, and she took me to Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
After my salvation I was baptized and then continued attending church with my family. At the age of fourteen I was very blessed to have been able to go on a mission's trip to Fiji with my dad, Pastor Robinson, and eight other men from our church. We went to help missionary Kory Mears rebuild a church after a cyclone had destroyed it along with about half the town. It was during/after this trip that I started to think about doing more for God.
I was able to go to Fiji again when I was 16 with a smaller group to help a missionary finish building his house. And then most recently, in August of 2023, I went to Malawi Africa with Campaigns for Christ to help Missionary David Robinson. This trip was truly amazing, we got to see so many souls saved, and not only saved but now being discipled by Brother Robinson and his team. The Lord is doing a work in Malawi, that I believe He would have me go and try to help with, in whatever capacity I can.
The harvest truly is plenteous, and I want to go be a laborer!
I have signed up to go back to Malawi at the end of April with Campaigns for Christ. We will be passing out tracts, John & Romans, and New Testaments. There will also be several open-air preaching meetings.
Please join me in praying that God would bless the trip, that it would be a blessing to the Robinsons, and for souls to get saved and discipled!
